چکیده

We derive the asymptotic behaviour of the one point probability density for the inhomogeneous shock slopes in the turbulent regime, when a Gaussian fluctuating flux at origin derives the system. We also calculate the time dependence of the xf beyond which there won’t exist any velocity shocks as xf ∼= t3/4(log t)1/4. We argue that the stationary state of the problem would be equivalent with the long time limit of the diffusion equation with a random source at origin. ∗[email protected]

Localization of metal-induced gap states at the metal-insulator interface: origin of flux noise in SQUIDs and superconducting qubits.

The origin of magnetic flux noise in superconducting quantum interference devices with a power spectrum scaling as 1/f (f is frequency) has been a puzzle for over 20 years. This noise limits the decoherence time of superconducting qubits. A consensus has emerged that the noise arises from fluctuating spins of localized electrons with an areal density of 5x10(17) m(-2). We show that, in the pres...

On the origin of sunspots

It is proposed that sunspots (and other flux emergence phenomena) originate due to the presence of fluctuating magnetic fields in addition to the regular, mean field in the convection zone. The mean field predicted by dynamo theories is too weak by itself to emerge at the surface of the Sun. However, the same dynamoprocesses that produce themeanfield also produce fluctuating fields. It is sugge...

Nuclear spin-lattice relaxation induced by thermally fluctuating flux lines.

Thermal motion of the flux lines (FL) gives rise to fluctuating magnetic fields. These dynamic fields couple to the nuclei in the sample and relax the nuclear spins. Based on a model of harmonic fluctuations, we provide a theoretical description of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation (NSLR) process due to the fluctuating FLs in clean type-II superconductors. At low fields, the calculated longit...

Current Limitation and Speed Drop Minimization in Optimal-Efficiency of Induction Motors

In conventional direct torque control (DTC), the stator flux is usually kept constant by controlling the x-axis component of the stator voltage in the stator flux reference frame. The torque is then controlled by the y-axis component of stator voltage. In this scenario, the stator current does not exceed its permissible value. However, in the so-called optimal efficiency mode, the induction mot...

Galactic magnetic fields and the large-scale anisotropy at MILAGRO

The air-shower observatory Milagro has detected a large-scale anisotropy of unknown origin in the flux of TeV cosmic rays. We propose that this anisotropy is caused by galactic magnetic fields, in particular, that it results from the combined effects of the regular and the turbulent (fluctuating) magnetic fields in our vicinity. Instead of a diffusion equation, we integrate Boltzmann’s equation...
